Thermoplastic Composite Pipe System

Features

FibronPipe – The next-generation flexible composite pipe for the energy industry

FibronPipe is an advanced Composite Pipe designed with a metal-free reinforcement, making it 100% corrosion-resistant. This innovative construction ensures long-term durability and reliability in demanding energy applications.

FibronPipe TCP Structure

Although the pipe consists of multiple polymer and fiber materials, the entire pipe wall is produced using a bonded structure, ensuring that the polymer liner remains fixed to the reinforcement layer - even under bending or high-pressure conditions.

The advanced manufacturing process guarantees full fusion between the liner and the reinforcement tape, providing structural integrity and long-term performance.

FibronPipe is spoolable and supplied on standard-sized drums, optimized for easy handling and transport. Coils of up to 1,100 meters in length can be produced, with up to four coils loaded on a single standard truck - offering efficient logistics and reduced installation time on site.

Installation

This new onshore piping solution features significantly faster installation times compared to traditional steel pipes. The weight per meter is significantly lower. The pipe can be coiled up and reused again during its service life. The use of FibronPipe reduces installation and maintenance costs substantially.

Flow Capacity

The pipe offers excellent flow performance thanks to its smooth internal surface. The formation of paraffin, wax, and scale is significantly reduced, helping to maintain high flow efficiency over the pipe's service life.

Application Range

FibronPipe is designed for the transport of water, oil, gas, and hydrocarbons, making it suitable for a wide range of applications - including transportation, injection, disposal, transfer lines, and pipeline rehabilitation.

Materials Testing & Qualification

FibronPipe has implemented a comprehensive validation and testing program to ensure the suitability of all raw materials used in its Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP/bonded-RTP) systems.

This applies to both the polymer liner materials and the unidirectional fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite tapes, verifying their performance, durability, and compatibility for long-term use.

FibronPipe's Thermoplastic Composite Pipes (TCP), also referred to as bonded Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipes (bonded-RTP), undergo rigorous industry qualification to ensure they meet the highest standards for performance, reliability, and safety in energy applications.

The qualification process includes hydrostatic burst testing, long-term pressure testing, chemical resistance evaluations, and mechanical property assessments, verifying durability under demanding conditions.

This high level of qualification builds trust among operators and engineers, encouraging the adoption of bonded TCP as a reliable, corrosion-free alternative to traditional steel piping.

FibronPipe conducts its own performance and qualification testing programs for unidirectional (UD) fiber tapes to ensure consistent quality and long-term reliability.

Tensile strength tests are carried out on aged samples, such as those conditioned in hot water baths, to assess durability over time under simulated operating conditions.

FibronPipe defines and controls its own UD tape formulations and specifies the exact types of fiber rovings used, ensuring full material traceability and optimized performance for TCP/bonded-RTP applications.

Advanced Infrared Temperature Monitoring

FibronPipe uses a network of highly specialized infrared (IR) sensors to achieve precise 360° heat penetration control during manufacturing. This advanced system ensures full bonding and fusion of the reinforcement tape, delivering consistent structural integrity and exceptional product quality - pipe after pipe.

FibronPipe offers a dedicated swaging technology for the reliable installation of field fittings onto our TCP. This process ensures a robust mechanical connection while maintaining the structural integrity of the composite reinforcement.

The field fittings are manufactured from stainless steel as standard and are designed for high-pressure operation. To ensure a safe and consistent connection, the swaging process must be carried out using specialized machinery developed and provided exclusively by FibronPipe. These machines are made available only to trained and authorized field service partners.

To protect the critical reinforcement structure of the TCP, only precision-hardened swaging inserts supplied by FibronPipe may be used. These inserts are manufactured to tight tolerances and play a key role in preventing any damage during installation.

This technology is a core part of FibronPipe's commitment to delivering safe, durable, and high-performance pipeline solutions in the field.
